Midlands Eco Partnership objectives

The four main objectives of the Midlands Eco Partnership:

  • NETWORK: To be an effective and collaborative network of Midlands' eco businesses. MEP is a point of contact for customers, suppliers and the general public looking for eco goods and services. It provides a referral system for eco businesses.
  • IDEAS MARKETPLACE: To be a leading marketplace for ideas in the Midlands on eco business development. It is a forum for promoting green businesses and green business practices.
  • DIRECTORY: To provide an online directory of businesses selling eco products and services in the Midlands.
  • LOBBY GROUP: To be an influential lobby group for creative approaches to current environmental challenges, in particular being a voice for small and medium sized eco businesses in the Midlands.

For its members:

The Midlands Eco Partnership is a grouping of like-minded businesses, all of which are involved in selling eco products or services.

  • It provides a mentoring role for new and growing eco businesses, a sounding board for new eco ideas
  • There are networking and referral opportunities for members, both online and in monthly meetings
  • The Partnership is a forum for advice, for sharing knowledge and experience of the eco marketplace. This is built on collaboration and cooperation, trust and commercial confidentiality, not competition.
  • It provides a voice for Midlands' eco companies to local government and to bodies such as Business Link, Advantage West Midlands and the Chamber of Commerce. It can advise on the best ways to obtain relevant funding and grants.
  • It is a PR channel for Midlands' eco businesses, with strong media connections across the Midlands.
  • The online directory of members, products and services will grow and develop into an authoritative and comprehensive listing of eco products and services from Midlands' based SMEs.

What commitment is required by members?
There is an annual membership fee of £200.00 + VAT.
More important than the fee is a commitment to provide time, ideas, expertise and advice. Regular meetings will be held in the Birmingham area and future meetings will be confirmed shortly.
